Hi, I'm Sheila
SERVICE AND EDUCATION
Sheila believes to whom much is given, much is required. She proudly served her country for 8 years in the Army where she was recognized for her leadership as Soldier of the Company. Sheila is a summa cum laude graduate of Jackson State University where she attended on a full academic scholarship and received a BBA in Accounting. She also holds a Master of Science in Accounting - Taxation from Purdue University Global, where she graduated with a 4.0. Sheila is also a graduate of Georgetown University's Leadership Institute. Committed to the same lifelong learning she advocates for in LISD, Sheila will graduate with her Doctor of Education - Leadership and Innovation from Purdue University Global on May 6, 2025.
A THRIVING CAREER
Sheila is a licensed CPA running her own Texas-licensed CPA firm after having served in senior management and director roles in public accounting and industry. She provides tax, accounting and consulting services in her own private practice, Sheila Taylor, CPA. Sheila holds CPA licenses in both Mississippi and Texas.
FAMILY LIFE
Sheila married Nathaniel "Nate" Clark, a Dallas County Probation Officer Division Manager, in 2002. They moved to the district to Lewisville in 2003 and now reside in Highland Village (2022). Sheila has two bonus sons that are graduates of Florida State University and a daughter who can be found on the field participating in extracurricular activities. Her youngest loves basketball, soccer and golf and plays on the LHS basketball and golf teams. She aspires to be a Sports Attorney "when she grows up". Sheila's greatest accomplishment is her family.

Nationally recognized by Komen, The Dallas Cowboys, and The MLB as a Star Survivor for her advocacy work for breast cancer awareness.

Served in a variety of roles for Komen Dallas, including Race Revenue Committee Chair, Race Speakers Committee Co-Chair, Race Survivor Co-Chair, and current Advocacy Co-Chair.

In 2015, founded Sock It To Cancer, a non-profit that provides comfort items to women in treatment for breast cancer and college scholarships to youth. The scholarship program was started to honor those who have lost their mothers to breast cancer in the loving memory of her mother-in-law, who lost her battle to breast cancer at age forty-six.

Lobbied for breast cancer survivors in the Halls of Congress in Washington, DC.

Past President and current advisory board member for The Bridge Breast Network, a non-profit that provides life-saving medical care at no cost for uninsured women diagnosed with breast cancer.
