I am Sheila Taylor, CPA and I am running for re-election to the LISD Board of Trustees.

Experience and leadership matters. I am the current LISD Board Secretary and serve as Chair of the Audit, Superintendent Evaluation and Naming Committees. I used my financial acumen in sounding the alarm to our current budget crisis shortly after election and serve on the newly created Program and Budget Committee that leads LISD through cost-cutting measures that ensure the longevity of this district for years to come. Under this board's leadership and your support of the VATRE, we reduced a $14M deficit to almost break even! I also helped usher in tax cuts that resulted in over $200 of savings to each household in our district, keeping my promise to promote the wise investment of your tax dollars. I have also fought to give our teachers raises and one-time adjustments even in the midst of financial challenges, fighting for stipends and non-monetary adjustments that help us retain the best and the brightest. You can find me in EVERY board meeting and work session fighting to raise the academic achievement and outcomes of our students while championing programs for our lifelong learners. Every day, I show up for our kids and continue to be a voice for them.
